Licence & rules
Do I need a licence to ride a jet ski?
From age 16 you can ride supervised by a state-certified instructor with no licence. For free rental, the French coastal licence is required.
What's the minimum age?
16 to ride solo (supervised). Children ride as passengers with an adult; towed buoy and parasailing from age 6-7.
Is a helmet required?
No, not for leisure use in France. A life jacket is mandatory and always provided.
Who can drive a jet ski?
Any adult with the coastal licence, or anyone aged 16+ in a session supervised by a certified instructor.
Practical & safety
What should I bring?
Swimsuit, towel, waterproof sunscreen. Everything else is provided.
What if I fall?
The life jacket holds you up, the engine cuts out via the lanyard, and you climb back from the rear.
Do I need to book ahead?
Yes in July-August and at weekends. In the low season we often take same-day bookings, weather permitting.
What if the weather is bad?
The outing is postponed or cancelled at no charge. The sea decides.
Getting to the Port of Saint-Aygulf
Where do you depart from?
The Port of Saint-Aygulf, 2 Boulevard du Muy, between Fréjus and Saint-Raphaël.
How far from Fréjus and Saint-Raphaël?
Five minutes from central Fréjus, ten from Saint-Raphaël along the coast road.
Is there parking?
Yes, the port car park is right next door, partly free out of season.
